Site Storage Space
Brief
Your site storage space is the amount of hard disk space made available to you to store all Web pages, graphics, audio, video, documents, forms and code that is required to operate your Web site. This space is also used to store site statistics and e-mail accounts.

How much storage space do I need?
Fortunately, HTML or text Web pages are very small files. Pictures or graphics placed on your Web pages begin to eat up your storage space. The good news is that a well designed site will have an average Web page size of 35 KB to 50 KB, including all media elements. This provides you with an average of 500 web pages on a 25 MB site.
So why do I need so much space?
What makes the WWW so powerful
is the ability to distribute a plethora of multimedia content anywhere,
anytime. This may include, photographs, audio, video and almost any other
data format. Unfortunately, this all comes at a cost, namely hard drive
space and download time. A text only Web page may take 2 Kilobytes in site
storage space and only 2 seconds to download. A 30 second video clip (compressed),
at minimum, will require 3 Megabytes (3,000 Kilobytes) of storage space
and take 22 minutes to download!
The amount of disk storage
space required is directly dependent on the size and amount of content
including downloads required for your site. Homepage will suggest an appropriate
size of disk space required after an analysis of your site requirements.
