Mailboxes

Brief

All mailboxes hosted by Homepage are industry standard POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3) compliant and enable you to send and receive e-mail from the e-mail address(es) of your choosing. E-mail can be sent and received anywhere in the world with all standard mail programs (e.g. Netscape Mail, MS Outlook, Eudora). All e-mail addresses can also be forwarded to any other e-mail address at any time.

Post Office Protocol (POP) Mailboxes are individual e-mail accounts present on your Web site server. This means that e-mail for each separate mailbox is received and stored at your Web site and can be retrieved at anytime, anywhere. If you already have an e-mail account, then you may wish to have e-mail forwarded from one mailbox to another e-mail address. This is called e-mail aliasing and is provided with all mailboxes.

Your main e-mail address is your chosen User ID combined with the name of your domain.
For example:

president@mycompany.com

sales@mycompany.com
support@mycompany.com
jsmith@mycompany.com
etc.

	president@mycompany.com		retrieved by the President
	sales@mycompany.com		forwarded to:  jdoe@aol.com
	support@mycompany.com jsmith@mycompany.com		forwarded to:  president@mycompany.com
